Official Contest Rules
1. Eligibility
- 18 years or older.
- Resident in a country where Project O2 operates. Currently Portugal.
- One account per person.
- A phone reporting daily activity through Apple Health or Health Connect, with permission granted.
2. How a contest works
- Your target is your own. It is derived from the median of your last 30 days of activity, so it reflects your habits rather than a stranger's fitness. It is set before the contest starts and does not move.
- You stake a fixed entry. Every entrant in a contest stakes the same amount, shown before you commit.
- Each day you either meet the target or you do not. Meeting it keeps you in. Missing it takes you out.
- At the end, the pool is distributed. Everyone who finished gets their whole stake back first. What the people who did not finish left behind is then shared between the finishers and O2.
3. How the money is split
Finishers are paid their stake in full before anything else is distributed. The surplus, meaning the stakes of those who did not finish, is split on a sliding scale that depends on how many dropped out. The exact percentages are displayed in the app before you stake and are frozen for that contest at the moment the first person enters, so they cannot change under you.
O2's share comes only from the surplus. If nobody drops out, O2 earns nothing from that contest.
4. Contests a user organises
A user may set up a contest for their friends. When they do:
- O2 remains the sponsor and administrator. O2 collects the non-finisher share and O2 pays out.
- The organiser receives a fee from O2's own share for organising, and only if they entered their own contest and finished it. Sit it out, or miss a day, and O2 pays that money to the finishers instead.
- The organiser never takes a cut of the pot. They hold no claim on any other entrant's stake at any point.
- A minimum of 8 entrants applies, and the rules freeze when the first person stakes.
5. Judging, and what counts
- Only daily totals reported by your phone's health platform count. Manual entries do not.
- A day runs on your own timezone and closes at local midnight.
- Data that arrives after a day has closed does not reopen it. If your phone stops reporting, the day can be judged missed.
- Results are checked for fabricated activity. A flagged result may delay a payout while it is examined, and a human being decides every case.
6. If a contest cannot run
- Too few entrants: the contest is cancelled and every stake is returned in full, with no fee.
- Nobody finishes: stakes are returned to entrants in proportion, minus only O2's stated share.
- A technical failure on our side: we return stakes rather than judge a contest we cannot judge fairly.
7. Payment of winnings
Winnings are credited to your in-app wallet when the contest settles, and can be withdrawn to your bank. Withdrawals require a verified email address, and identity verification above legal thresholds. No purchase or payment is necessary to browse the service; entering a contest requires a stake.
8. Not a game of chance
Outcomes are determined solely by whether entrants meet activity targets derived from their own history. No element of any contest is randomised. Project O2 is a contest of skill and personal effort, not a lottery, wager, or game of chance.
